Petra Ecclestone Remembers Croatia In Designer Shoe Giveaway

Well, Here I go again. Another celebrity type post, which I vowed I would never do again. However, this one is right up my alley and to sweet to pass up.  Besides, like I've written before, if it's interesting and Croatia related in any way, It may find it's way onto my blog.  Besides, I have a feeling there will be a lot of Petra wannabee sightings in the future.

Anyway, by now more people are becoming more and more familiar with the name Petra  Ecclestone, (as well as her sister Tamara)   Petra has been all over the news lately since her wedding, and especially since her purchase of America's most expensive home and fairytale wedding this past summer.   She's been on Primetime TV and is already becoming the talk of tinseltown after only a few weeks of living there.  She's quickly becoming the "IT" girl, whether she planned it or not.

She's busy these days with her newest designing venture, a line of handbags going by name of "STARK". Her handbag line can be viewed at starkltd.co.uk (I can almost guarantee you however, that you won't find this line at Wal-Mart, Sears, J.C. Penney etc)  You will have to google her name to find out what she's up to these days or more about her in general. Just way too much to cover in this post.

She's been getting some flack in some gossip rags and tabloid sites, but that comes with being a celebrity.  Sometimes though, unfounded or just plain ridiculous crap and twisting words pops up.  (Like comments I've read that she bought the house, which has a large estate, strictly for her dogs.  Gimme a break)  She's not Cruella from 101 Dalmations, and hasn't been spotted wearing an "A-List" jacket even once. (I've seen  a few "A-List" jacket wearing females, but "A-List" people don't shop at Safeway or wear "A-List" jackets)

Will she go for the Oreo sprinkles or Reese's pieces? Paparazzi minds need to know. Photo: pairody.com

I think it could be because she's fashionable and wears dresses instead of a suit and tie or because she's not dressed like a Saudi Arabian oil tycoon. The swarms of paparazzi follow her every move, and tabloids are working overtime too, photographing every move.. She can't even go for an ice cream without tons of clicks and  flashes and shouts of "Hey Petra! What flavour did you get!"  Basically, I think it's just because she's beautiful, she's loaded, got a good deal on a huge house,  and just happens to have good taste in stuff. She can afford it.  If you've been living under a rock, spending your evenings watching dart matches on TV at your local bar n grill, or your book shelf fell on you and you've been trapped under it the last few months, then you can click onto the links to my previous posts and familiarize yourself. It's a real fascinating universe to peak into. You can read them HERE, HERE and HERE.

Petra Ecclestone likes to send any old designer shoes she no longer wears to Croatia, where her mother was born.

Petra Ecclestone sends her old designer shoes to a Croatian charity.

The heiress - daughter of billionaire Formula 1 mogul Bernie Ecclestone - admits a weakness for designer wear, in particular shoes, but gives many of them away to Croatia, where her mother, Slavica Radic, was born.

She said: "It's shoes that I've built up quite a collection of. Every three to four months I ship a whole load over to Croatia for charity."

When asked if this meant that at least one village in the country is populated by women in designer shoes, she replied: "Yes."

22-year-old Petra's parents divorced after 24 years together in 2009, which she describes as "one of the most difficult periods of my life," and she added that her mother has always taken her and sister Tamara back to the port of Rijeka, where she is from, to give them grounding in life.

She explained to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "My grandmother worked on a fruit and vegetable market stall showing us where we came from was important to mum."

Petra recently married art dealer James Stunt, and the pair have moved to Los Angeles, where they bought a 123-room mansion for £91 million.

Describing the property, she said: "I saw a lot of houses and so many were like museums. This one is quite cosy - it's a real family house."

Newlywed Heiress Petra Ecclestone Looking Forward To Kids By Age 30

Petra Ecclestone had one of the most beautiful weddings any girl could ever dream about, but she has recently revealed her wedding night was not exactly the stuff anybody dreams about. The heiress reveals an unexpected and definitely uninvited guest made it into the newlywed’s bedroom suite. Petra, and her new husband, James Stunt, were a little surprised and miffed to find their best man in dire need of some attention.

Petra explains, “We were in bed when we heard this moaning from the corridor; it was our drunken best man, who ended up getting into bed with us for an hour and a half.” Not exactly how a bride envisions spending her wedding night! Petra laughs it off and says, “There I was thinking, ‘I’m pretty sure this is not how things are supposed to happen.’”

The couple are currently living in the United States where Petra continues to work as a fashion designer. She may be an heiress to a billionaire empire, but she works hard for a living. “I don’t need to work, but I’ve chosen to,” explains Petra. Work is not the only thing on Petra’s mind. The 22-year-old reveals her plans for a family. She gushes, “I definitely want three or four children before I’m 30.”

While she is waiting for the family thing, she is filling her massive 123-bedroom home with dogs. She laughs off the rumors she bought the home specifically for her dogs. Petra explains, “I saw a lot of houses, and so many were like museums. This one is quite cozy – it’s a real family house.” She admits her penchant for scooping up bulldogs is most likely her maternal nature kicking in. Petra jokes, “I think I keep buying dogs to replace children!”

She recently added two more of the slobbering creatures to her brood, bringing the grand total to 7. Petra recently flew to New York on business, but ended up taking more than just a few ideas home. “We were in New York for fashion week and I was in between meetings wondering what to do, so I went and got two dogs,” she reveals. Lucky dogs!

Bernie’s girl - she’s got bags of brains

When daddy’s a billionaire, a girl doesn’t have to do much.

But Petra Ecclestone, youngest daughter of Formula One boss Bernie, she likes to do her bit.

For the world, for a start; “I’ve been to places like India and Brazil. I’ve seen poverty and it’s opened my eyes to how lucky I am,” she says.

The 23-year-old is realistic about her limitations, though; she says she knows she can’t change the world (well, actually, she probably could. Or, at least, the worlds of 10,000 people in India and Brazil if, say, she set up a school, or maybe a hospital).

She does her bit, though, let’s be fair: “I pay my tax. I employ people,” she says.

Yep, a personal trainer, a butler and sundry other people whom she admits pick up every towel she drops.

“And I clear out my clothes every few weeks and send them to Croatia,” she adds.

Why Croatia, I’m wondering. Doesn’t she think they would suit Indians and Brazilians?

Ah, but then her model mother Slavica is Croatian, so maybe she’s sending them on to hard-up second-cousins.

Plus she’s also trying to EARN some money - as running out of it is something she does worry about. Smart or what? She’s designing and selling the very thing no little rich girl’s life is complete without; a ridiculously expensive handbag collection.

Petra herself adores the Hermes Birkin bag. She has 25 of them and a cupboard especially for them.

So there’s another canny business idea; bag cupboards. Expect to see them any time soon. Though not at Argos.
