Great news again this morning, sipping coffee and finding out that our team in Istanbul, Turkey won more medals at the European Short Track Swimming Championships. Yesterday was awesome with Sanja winning gold and setting a new world record in the 50 meter backstroke, but then the icing on the cake today was finding out we won silver in the 4x50 relay and then former world record holder,(for now) Duje Draganja, taking silver in the 50 meter freestyle and becoming European Champion by taking gold at the 100 meter medley.

Duje Draganja.(Another world record just around the corner?..) Foto: AFP In all, Croatia took home 5 medals at this years championships, after including Sanja Jovanovic's silver at the 100 meter backstroke and world record gold in the 50 meter backstroke. Not a bad day for Croatian sports afterall. As a side-note, Ivica Kostelic's knee operation was a success today and he will be recuperating in Croatia starting tomorrow. His chances for winning the slalom title this year may have taken a blow, but with the Olympics just around the corner...who knows?... Duje becoming European Champion in the 100 meter medley.
