Jelena Kovacevic Takes Gold & Ivana Bebek Bronze From European Karate Championships

The 47th European Senior Karate Championships, which are being held in Adeje, the Spanish Canary Islands,  brought great news to the Croatian Women's Karate team today.  27-year-old Jelena Kovacecic, from the coastal city of Opatija won the title of European Champion title in the 55 kg. category.

It was her fourth consecutive final at the European Championships, and now Jelena has won gold for the second time in her career. She also won gold three years ago in Zagreb.

Also, Jelena wasn't the only one grabbing a medal today, as Ivana Bebek, from the city of Rijeka, took home Bronze. Not a bad day for Croatian Women's Karate.
