First Croatian Smartphone On The Way In 2013

This is an interesting piece of gadget/technology news.  A Croatian company is about to launch it's very own brand of smartphone and tablets onto the market. The company behind this is M SAN Grupa d.d.. (They've  already been making computers, laptops, GPS devices, cellphones, LCD/HD televisions and a whole long list of devices and appliances for a number of years that are sold in Croatia and other European countries. See previous post HERE)

Their Vivax brand of products have already been on the market for a number of years as well (See Here) including cellphones and other electronic goods, but smartphones and tablets are next on the table now.

Vivax tablet.

The new Vivax smarthphone isn't even on the market until later this year, so I don't have an image here.  An image of one their Vivax tablets is below and above. Overall very cool news. Croatia has come a long way since we first got electricity back in 2003 and the internet in 2009.  More info at the links. The company's website is

*Note - As you probably already know, most, if not all, major smartphones and other electronic devices are manufactured in China. The chances are that probably this Croatian one will be produced there as well.  Afterall,  Apple and the rest have been doing this for many years. (with wages of about 2 bucks an hour...more here)... Also, keeping it on the geek/gadget/science  theme, a famous Croatian scientist is on Google Doodle today. (Pic at bottom)  Read my previous post about Andrija Mohorovičić, his contribution to the scientific world and what the "Moho" is  HERE. (There's a vid that will explain everything)

Croatian PC maker M San Grupa will release its Vivax smartphone in the second quarter of this year, local media reported on Tuesday.

Croatian IT company M San says it will launch the Vivax smartphone in Q2 of 2013.

Local daily Poslovni Dnevnik reports that the first smartphone produced in Croatia will use the Android OS and will be a dual-Sim device.

In addition, M San will launch the first tablet produced in Croatia.

The Vivax TPC-7120 will have a 7-inch screen, with 4 GB, TFT resolution of 800×480 pixels, 1.0 GHz processor and 512 MB memory.

The phone will also have Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and mini USB connectivity, Telecompaper reveals.
