Kiwi-Croat On Front Cover of Rolling Stone Magazine

I came across this recording artist only a few months ago and discovered the fact of her Croatian background, which I thought was cool. Then I forgot all about it until this article. I do music related topics once in while, so I guess being on the front cover of 'Rolling Stone' magazine is as good a time as any. I don't know why she didn't go for a Miley Cyrus tongue pose though, because it's the most popular front cover photo pose these days afterall. (You didn't do a tongue pose?, you gotta do a tongue pose, everyone's doing a tongue pose, you need to do the tongue pose already. After all, if you don't do at least 20 tongue poses a week for the cameras you'll never become a celeb )

Kiwi is a nickname for someone who is from New Zealand in case you didn't know, it also has nothing to do with Kiwi fruit whatsoever. I came across some other pics of her and she looks almost like that chick in that movie, that witch in that movie, the one with those people who are all speaking in accents and that magical book. I also recently touched about 30 Seconds To Mars lead guitarist Tomo Miličević and his 'Bond girl villian' actress sister Ivana that might be of interest, see the link below. Anyway.......

Kiwi-Croatian singing sensation Ella Yelich-O’Connor (17), better known as Lorde, has made the cover of famous music magazine Rolling Stone…

Believed to be the first Rolling Stone cover with a Croatian connection since Nirvana’s Krist Novoselić graced it back in the 1990′s, Lorde is interviewed in the music ‘bible’ ahead of the Grammy Music Awards, where the teenager has been nominated for four awards.

Yelich-O’Connor, who has Croatian roots on her mother’s side, has enjoyed a remarkable rise to fame this year thanks to her smash hit ‘Royals’, which carries a message criticizing the materialism of the pop music scene, and spent nine weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart this year. Ella will find out on 26 January if she can pick up a prestigious Grammy award. Lorde talks about her rise to fame and her heritage below.
