Photos Of The Day: Anja Stehlik Presents "La Femme" Fashion Show In Pula (+Video)

The "La Femme" fashion show featuring creations by designer Anja Stehlik took place at the Sveta Srca Arecheological Museum in the town of Pula.

Something light and airy, I've mentioned before how I'm not a fashion guru or designer or fashionista but I have no problem with doing the odd fashion related post. I don't mind checking out various pics and styles and having my own opinions about some of the designs. It's more interesting than lots of stuff. (Believe me, I come across lots of men's designs here and there and there's plenty of stuff that I wouldn't touch with a 10 ft pole, let alone wear, but then again I see plenty of stuff in the local stores I wouldn't wear either) Besides,  I just put the tv on and it's Sunday television programming, and you know what that means...Yep, it's that nauseating televangelist circus comes to town day. I'd much rather browse and post about fashion models than see or listen to Peter Popoff, John Hagee, Benny Hinn or a bunch of other shucksters selling crap and shuckstering to the masses for a new house and gazebo/prostitute/hair spray/cocaine money, I mean faith seeds.

Anyway, these photos I came across on the same website by chance while doing my Red Bull Air Race Coming To Rovinj Croatia post. The designer Anja Stehlik I found out actually also took part in the "Riječke Stepenice" (Rijeka Stairs) Fashion Show evening in the city of Rijeka back in September. (See post HERE) This particular one took place in the coastal town of Pula, and although it's women's designs in the pics, she also does men's stuff.

A lot of Croatian fashion designers have been making a name for themselves over the years I noticed, and not just in Croatia either, but having their designs being showcased in places like Italy, UK, France, Slovenia, Macedonia, Hungary, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Japan, Australia, Austria and many other countries. My previous post links at the bottom are just a few examples of what's been going on. The way I see it, there's a lot worse things to be doing or known for, and let's face it, there's just too many examples of awful fashion and clothing choices going on in the world. Come to think of it, it's probably one of the reasons, if not the catalyst for why there's so much fucked up stuff happening in the news these days.

You'll also notice a lot these days that even those classified as "Rocker chicks", or "Alternative" this or that or whatever, you won't find them wearing just jeans and a t-shirt all the time, by far. Same goes for a lot of the guys. Take Sherri-Moon Zombie for instance, (aka Sheri Lyn Skurkis) or Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil as just a couple examples You'll see them dress it up quite often. (I also personally find it cool when you see a female with tattoos dress it up, including heels, I've come across lots of images, especially from Japan, and it's a very creative look and effect) Or the band Thirty Seconds To Mars, you see them dressed casual and also more in vogue quite often. I could give lots of examples but I think you get my point, see some of my previous post links below for some more cool and creative designs.

Well, that's about it. strictly for the benefit of the reader, perhaps you'll see a tee, shoes or top that catches your eye. Or maybe not, wear whatever the hell you want, I don't care, everyone does anyway. I noticed lots of people like to wear KFC buckets on their heads these days. The main thing is that there's no holy rollers, ball scratching nose pickers, sword/poster wielding crazies or even selfies/acties/posies in the photos. I think most people will basically agree that clothes should express in some way who and what you're about, your personality, maybe even background or salad dressing preferences, whatever, and not just be pieces of cloth you throw on in the morning just to keep sauce from falling onto your bare skin.....

I updated this post shortly after doing it with this pic. I came across it by chance and it's about some new Burberry military inspired designs, boots and footwear for women. I found it interesting because I have some military background. It doesn't look too bad actually, it's more casual and I'm not sure about the hat on the left, but overall it looks pretty modern, hip and edgy. Probably ideal for going to Walmart to pick up some hair conditioner or vegetables, grabbing some tacos or stir fry, going to the local bingofest or mosque, perhaps even to the next miracle filled televangelist tour to fix that nagging halitosis, and of course for sitting around on the front steps.
